Please note that, from October to April, snow chains onboard or winter tyres (highly recommended!) are mandatory in the whole region.

If you're coming from west (Mont Blanc, Petit St Bernard) we suggest to take the national road SS26, not the highway.

Also consider that, if you're coming from east, you can exit the A5 at Aosta Est, then follow national road SS26 towards Aosta/Courmayeur/Mont Blanc; this will take you through the city traffic but also save you 8 € toll.
